[ a smile graces her own features, relief and joy flooding her entire being. ]
Hopefully Makoto doesn't make us wait too long.
[ it's the best she can muster for the time being, because even she isn't sure how well things will go from here. but noel's strength is her own, and she welcomes it with open arms. she then realizes they should get around to dealing with the situation at hand.
and with dealing with songerein matters, comes the motherly side of tsubaki. ]
Have you settled in properly? Have you eaten? Taken care of yourself at all?
[ Noel nods enthusiastically and lets out a small chuckle. Her fears may not have been elevated completely, and the situation of their world is no less grim than it was moments ago, but she wants to focus on what she can do now instead. She's not entirely sure what that could be, but having Tsubaki around means they'll figure something out.
The following barrage of questions catches her off guard, though, and for a brief moment, she has no idea how to respond to all of those. ]
Ah, yes! I mean, no! [ Which one is it, then, Noel? ] I've been investigating the town a bit... I'm afraid there's not much here to see. There are some tree houses that could be used as living quarters, but they seem to be overrun by... bugs...
[ The tone of her voice drops as she says that last word. She's not good with bugs on a good day, but the ones here are huge! Noel isn't sure if she has enough willpower to live in a place that was once full of those, even after they're gone. ]
[ yes, she understands noel's fear of bugs, but the way she says her name is more of understanding rather than disappointment. she's seen multiple instances of it back in their military academy days. but the pragmatic tsubaki knew that this new world had its limitations, and she doubts there's any place in songerein that didn't have the presence of those creatures. but instead of trying to convince her otherwise, tsubaki takes a different approach. ]
So our discoveries are the same, it seems... [ her lips press into a thin line, as if considering her next words before she continues. ] If we're going to be here long term, we might as well set up one of those houses as a permanent residency. I'll try to find one with as little bugs as possible, and all we would have to do is clean it up of debris. Does that sound fair?
